Unbelievably, the saga continues and my friend who had volunteered to help me now regrets ever having met me! In the end he got the entire dash out, its just gone back in again. Anyway, this is from him. What we really need to know please is step by step, how do we calibrate and set the damn things. Just to recall, we replaced the pots in the blend and distribution motors, got upgraded ones from someone I trust as an expert so don't think they are wrong. However the pots didn't go in quite as we expected, we had to turn them a quarter turn in order to get the full movement but now the arrow marks don't line up. IS THAT THE PROBLEM? My friend has put down the readings he's getting and also when driven with direct power on the bench they seem to operate fine. Someone who has a clue PLEASE help!

The error code for the Hevac is:
DISTRIBUTION DOOR MOTOR STALLED DURING SELF CALIBRATION
Left Blend MOTOR STALLED DURING SELF CALIBRATION
Right Blend MOTOR STALLED DURING SELF CALIBRATION

I can see the distribution motor turning one way then the other then the error message.

I cannot work out how to calibrate using autologic.

There is a calibration button I press, but nothing. I think because of the fault it won’t do anything!

By the time you clear the fault and get back into Autologic, it has gone through the self calibration procedure and errored again.

I spent 5 hours making sure all the flaps work VERY smoothly, so either it’s calibration or pot issues.

According to autologic, the motors all go from about 34% - 78% about!

The dash is back in again, so to remove the motors will be a nightmare.

If necessary I’ll just remove the hevac unit and using voltage, move the motors. But maybe autologic cannot do it and testbook will be the only option?

How did you get on with this?
I've done the same thing fitted new pots but the hole and throw is off compared to the old pots,so if I was to line both arrows up if would be end the end of the pot swing.?

Not unless you wait for the car to do it's self calibration which is about every 500 switch on's. Motors have to be fitted in the neutral position, flat on shaft in line with long side, they should set themselves to a certain degree.

Hi Rasheed, I am facing similar situation after servicing my blender motors. Did you find a way to solve this ?

Depending on the original and replacement potentiometer, you could have the gear inserted 180deg out. In this case, when aligning the arrows, the pot will be at one end of travel. . . .. and cause the "stalled" error.

Other possibility is wrong value pot causing voltage error, but I assume you checked this ?

The distribution servo can be removed after taking the instrument panel out to check. If this is the case, then dash out again (easier 2nd time) to change the other potentiometers.

The pots should be at the centre of their travel with the arrows lined up and the main gear in it's neutral position. The line on the pot gear lines the main gear neutral to the pot gear with pot neutral. If you have changed the pots and they are out simply find where the pot is neutral and mark the gear. Then put main gear neutral (flat along top edge of case) and fit to new mark on pot gear.
