The larger longer belt that runs off the back of the fan runs the water pump and pas.......the pas has a double pulley off which runs a shorter narrower belt to the alternator.....
Do not run without a belt to the water pump!!

I hope not......I drove it 1/2 mile to a private car park...somewhere out of the way anyway!.....I hope I havent cooked it doing that
Need to find the correct belt somewhere in Harrogate tomorrow!
If anyone has one I will pay cash or replace when I get chance??
BTW it is a defender genuine 200tdi not a Disco one.

My ignorance shows again MHM, I do not require the LZIR as I caught a taxi....am thinking the belt must be in stock in local Land rover stealer so will use the wifes car tomorrow to go and fetch one

I just need to search LZ on the procedure to fit the damn thing now!

Aux belts definitely come in the catagory of 'when you need one buy two'......and throw the spare in the back
