Why not sell it on E**y-seems to me there are enough mugs out there who are prepared to pay £40+ without asking questions first-even if it means going to the main dealer for the price of a replacement. At least the battery cover and button membrane may be useful!!!!!

Spoken like a true Irish Man. So where do you draw your line in the sand then is it just electrical things you'd sell knowing they were knacked or would you just sell anything and sod the consequences? fook I wouldn't want to buy a set of brake callipers off you.

To be honest Redhand, this thread has gone on and on with people hoping that there is someone out there who can reprogramme a keyfob off E**y for a fiver. Despite all the feedback that agrees that they are useless -the "Maybe's" keep popping up.
The point I was making is if you are daft enough to believe in fairy tales without doing your homework then you deserve all you get and people will try and recoup their losses by selling on to another mug the same as them.
If the headlamp doesn't work, do you go out and but a new BECM first or rewire the car without changing the bulb?
Personally, I would not dispose of any junk on E**y if it was faulty but it appears that all too many people are doing just that with false or scanty descriptions to con people out of their cash.

Here's my issue: The body control module on my Range Rover was replaced and now the keys do not work for RF remote access. They will work in the door (always) and in the ignition (mostly).

Main issue is that sometimes the drivers door will open only and not dis-engage the whole car (all doors, alarm system).

Is there a way to reprogram this? I've heard I can use a key-in turn clockwise holding open, key out, key in holding lock, turn anti-clockwise but this has not worked.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could be that the alarm function has been disabled in the BECM or the alarm module is faulty. Best to get them checked out by the people who set up the new BECM

hi all i started this thread i have only just had time to look at threads thanks for all advice ps i did not buy off the bay i will go to main dealers

ive got the same thing - had becm sorted and now key wont unlock remotely - always works in door lock

compant that did the becm says it works fine on their test rig euipment

so it must be something that they didnt have (they had both keys and becm) and have got euipment set up to mimick unlocking procedure and its fine

I know some will say the rf reciver is at fault - but ive tried a second unit and its the same - also if it was at fault im lead to belive car would still unlock remotely if fob was held close to rear quarter

any ideas chaps

amd some part worn pads as well...........LOL!

Firstly, I am a Brummie, secondly I would not and have not sold dodgy stuff.
This thread really pi**ed me off with people ignoring a fact that was clearly stated that these fobs are useless and yet trying to hope that we were wrong in bursting their bubble after they had wasted their money. The point I was making is-if they want to get their money back after making a cock up, then they should do what has been done to them IF THEY WISH. Finally, I have sold parts to forum members and it was not crap.
As far as I am concerned this subject is closed-any more keyfob buyers out there-don't expect informatio from me.

Well, born a Brummie but lived in the land of the "Yam Yams" before moving over here for a quiet life-until this string changed it!!!

Found the solution, did some searching on the web, here is how I got all my keys working.

1. turn key to position 1 five times very quickly
2. remove key
3. Hold unlock button then press lock button 3 times, release unlock button.
4. If you have another key do the same button pressing within 30 seconds
5 turn on igntion to finalize

OK..I'm wrong. Go ahead and buy all your remotes off Ebay. What is said on rangerovers.net landy.wiki Blackbox-solutions etc. is a load of crap and not worth a toss.
I have half a dozen fobs matched to BECM's here, I'm going on to Ebay now to make a fortune.
:bolt:

I doun't know fook all about Rangies (never been posh enuff to own one and couldn't find anyone who would give me the secret handshake you need before anyone will sell you one.) But I know Buckshot recently bought a fob off Ebay and took it to the stealers to get it programmed for his Deepender. & it works fine.

Don't have to be posh to own a P38 Pikey......just mad!
The Farmers Limousine:hysterically_laughi key is completely different to the P38..probably cos they are not worth nicking..especially with the smell of pig ****e inside them..best deterrent going!!!!!

Brilliant. Worked perfectly, just had to re-program mine after the batt died.

You do have to do BOTH fobs if you have two tho as if you just do one then the other stops working

Cheers mate

All you did was re-sync your key not re-program it, you did not need to do all that crap, just read your handbook on how to sync a FOB.

Hmm, well I acctually did look in my handbook first, infact I looked a couple of times, and again when you just posted that.....carnt find anything.

Sorry for incorrect terminology. And you are correct I did re-sync, not re-program.

Also I could have just posted a question or new thread but I didn't, I did a search, I found what I needed, tuk me 2 min to do. I tried the whole 'hold a button whilst unlocking using the key' didn't work.

So why have a snap?
