Meanwhile the VCU sits on my coffee table and I wait for the inspiration which will make me very wealthy (hopefully before Ming) when I figure out how to make this thing selectable from the drivers seat. And when it happens how many people will say "Now why didn't I think of that"

Examples:

Cats eyes
Rubiks cube
Solar garden lights

My Hippo's getting castrated, there taking outs its manly bit (propshaft and all that). VCU must have dufted befor I got the thing and at the last service the Transfer box oil was all silvery. So Save the £800 on an new front diff and 2 cogs and have a momento of what it could have been like hanging in the garage.. Note to check next time ... what colour is the TB Oil? and does the VCU have a part number label on it?.. hey LR says 'Lovely off road' trouble is got to go on road to get off road these days.

Looking around the net there are a shat load of shaft coupling devices , but not sure how the drive train will handle them in place of the vcu.

It was looked into at least a year ago - here and here and here.

the most likely choice was one of these. There is a guy in Tassy that was making up a mechanical dog clutch (Ian1).

Did yu ever meet him, Dearot? I think he was supposed to be coming over to the UK this year.......
