Been a member for a few years but have been quiet. I had some great help with my P38 which kept embarrassing itself. When it worked it was great but that was not very often. It embarrassed itself again just before I was due to go on a Battlefields tour with my daughter to France a couple of years ago. So at the last moment with a few days to go had to buy a Hyundai. The tour was excellent and highly recommended. Any way the P38 was replaced with a D3. That cost me £7000 over two years. My own fault for buying a 14 year old D3 with 212K on the clock.
Thats now gone and just got my first D2. Es model . Loving it. Hope to take across the plain and further afield.
Also recently just finished a 3 year restoration of my series 2. 1961. Originally an army vehicle , then a farm hack, and had series 3 bulkhead change in 95. I've now converted back to series 2 by altering the bulkhead and welding on the dash from a rotten series 2 back on. Altering windscreen hinges etc. Labour of love but now done. Also changed the diesel back to original petrol. The petrol engine and gear box coming from a friends caravan park where the old hack for moving caravans around was sat in a hedge for a number of years. That series is now sat sadly on the drive awaiting either the diesel setup to be installed or more likely a 200 tdi auto drive train from an old d1 that happens to sit in my rear garden.

Anyway now have 2 running road legal landies t long last. But sometimes ask myself for how long before something goes wrong.

Can some kind soul point me in the right direction for uploading photos. Think thats what we like best.

Welcome.
It’s too nice to see the series 2 been loved.
Glad you have not beaten the dents out & left it looking honest.

Its difficult to know how far to go and to keep within my skill base. Wish i had regalvanised the cappings andnot used galvanised spray but at the time i thought it was the right decision.
