C clivees Well-Known Member Oct 20, 2008 #4 Try turning the engine over with a socket on the bottem pully. Sometimes you need to line up the splines with the clutch plate.

Codbasher New Member Oct 20, 2008 #7 Have you got the series clutch so that it mates to the gearbox splines, did you check the clutch slid on the splines before assembly?? Is the engine in line with the gearbox shaft? trying to slide it on at a small angle can make it almost impossible to line up. Take yer time, try and rush it and it will never go on, I know, ive had the tantrum..... Wot everyone else says as well....
