I have now purchased a original single CD player as when I purchased my truck it had a aftermarket head unit. I want to be able to use the steering wheel controls as well I believe I will need some kind of plug in system ? If so what part is it and where can I purchase it ? cheers

Your "kind of plug in system" which is just an interface lead is only required when an aftermarket non standard head unit is fitted.

Ok so I went to fit a Visteron 6500 cd player and the steering wheel controls do not work !!! Anyone any ideas ?

If it not standard or an option for you vehicle then it maybe not. But then if u had an aftermarket unit fitted who knows what state you connections/wiring are in.

Help needed p,ease come to have another go at fitting a original cd player and I have noticed the truck won't start unless I lock and unlock the alarm/central locking ! The clock light is on but no clock and I seem to have lost power to the stereo ! I have checked the fuses and all appear ok ! Can anyone post a sensible thing to look at/try please ! All the wiring appears in a1 condition !

Maybe when someone put an aftermarket stereo in, the wires were fiddled with. What actually would be the original equipment for your vehicle? Mine has that head unit, it works okay and the wheel controls work. Although the sound isn't bad, I find the CD player can jump without too much effort on the part of the roads.

What trim level/year is your vehicle (I see you call it a truck, that will annoy some on here)? That should then lead you to the original stereo that was fitted. If you don't know, try here:

Then take it from there. It's a bit difficult to try and fault find an electrical problem like this by remote forum posts. Just try and be methodical.
