it,s gone up in price from when i saw it last,i think it was £650 and about £800 for a full engine that they were doing,but still a good price considering
 
Even after allowing £200 for a new Camshaft, tappets, sprockets and timing chain, it's cheap. I paid just under £2K a couple of years ago and got a good deal then.
 
well good news is heads fine there being done over now. Will check your ideas for engines out ta to all. Where is it best to get head gasket set from, thought mayby original ones unless you have any other ideas. Any pit falls to putting lump back in when it arrives,:doh:
 
get them from island 4x4 don,t forget new head bolts
as for the block just make sure the torque convertor is fitted on the box ok,once the block is in,and before you bolt the torque convertor back the the fly wheel do the following
the torque convertor should rotate freely,and there should be about nomore than 2mm back and forth play on it,if it is ok bolt it up

can anyone tell me if the engine is a high or low comp. type. there are two listed one is part no. stc 1891. high comp 9.35:1. and part no. 1890 low comp. 8.13:1. My RR is a 1999 4.0 SE V reg thor engine type. :doh:
