my boy has a traxxas emaxx rc truck running a brushless system,

for some reason out of the blue when u connect the batterys(this truck runs 2) one battery gets very very hot within 5 secs of them being connected,to the point if u leave it connected the batterys start bubbleing,

it only happens on one side and the truck wont turn on,could it be a faulty esc or am I looking at a short somewhere? any help pls as he don't wanna keep destroying batterys

If the battery is a lipo then its broken and the bubbling means its about to burst in to flames or blow up. If its a ni-cad then they just get warm and don't cause a threat . You need to get on google and find out how to get ride of the lipo safely. It needs to be put in salt water for 24 hrs before safe disposal . I come from an airsoft back ground and the slightest of knocks can wreck them or if there hit hard. IF ITS A LIPOLY DON'T USE IT AGAIN.

there 8.4v batterys hes got 10 batterys and it don't matter what one u fit to each terminal its the left side that batterys will bubble up if left connected the right side stays cold, swap over and it heats the cold battery up..im guessing the esc is fooked

now then, this is an area that im familiar with, racing nationals and all that, im guessing that your running traxxas powercell lipos? the one that has been betting hot and bubbling, dispose of it immediately, they are extremely dangerous after that, just search youtube, its full of videos about exploding lipos, fill a bucket full of salty water and place the lipo in in and leave it outside for 2 weeks, traxxas lipos come with traxxas connectors as standard so im guessing you changed them to deans, not saying your an idiot but just double check that you have soldered them the right way, check that there is not shorting on the esc wires, could have been a faulty lipo, do you have another car to try the lipos in? have you changed any settings on the esc, your charger could have over charged your lipo or could have discharge too low. nice threaded shocks by the way

just read your last post wlm, in that case sound to like your speedo is knackered, ill find your a decent replacement, give me 5 mins, is it a sensored motor? are you running a 550 or 700 size motor?

brill:D..

its the novak hv maxx esc running the novak brushless motor

what size is the motor? if you let me know the size i will find a suitable esc, if you measure it for me

Right, the 4th lead with the connectors is the sensor lead, because there is 3 magnets inside the motor the sensor lead tells the esc what position the rotor is in relation to which magnet position, the sensor lead tells this to the esc meaning that the car is smooth at low speeds, without this sensor lead the car will stutter at low speeds

Sensor less esc this is a good one

Sensored are more expensive

This one is from America but they are £180 in the uk but very good esc

Yeah, that's the one I linked, they are very good esc's, we use those for racing 1:8 buggy a and truggies like mugens and kyoshos
