My disklok arrived today (£26 from ebay)
I have recently changed my steering wheel to a 14" one so bought a SMALL disklok.
Looks very well made and very tough
Tried it on my steering wheel and it is VERY loose even at the tightest setting
I could get my fingers through the back of the disk lock and round the enclosed face of the steering wheel Its that loose that i'm sure you could (with a bar and a bit of brute force) lever the steering wheel rim through the hole on the back
Might have something to do with the steering wheel being a bit thin??
Anyway decided to mod the disklok a bit to ensure a closer fit without it being tight to the wheel.............
I had an old 300tdi drive belt that i have cut into 2 pieces - so that the grooves fit into each other. Bit of super glue to bond the 2 pieces of belt together and some on the outer to fix the pieces to the top inside rim of the disklok - sorted
The thickness of the doubled belt makes the disklok sit higher up on the wheel so that both the top and bottom of the wheel is enclosed by the disklok rim
Didn't think i'd have to 'mod' it - just glad it was a cheap and easy fix
