Hi all please could someone help me can't read ECU on my 2003 range rover HSE auto 3ltr td6 I have found heater plugs relay is reading dead short would that drop battery power and stop me reading ECU thanks in advance

If the relays actually shorted out and keeping the glow plugs energised, that would drain the battery PDQ and cause all sorts of problems. However low battery voltage can also give you false readings.

Your Amazon fault reader may not connect with your ecu's. The early l322 was very picky about it's diagnostic software. Sometimes some of the systems can be read by going through bmw and then x5. No guarantees it'll work with your diagnostic tool
