Belts, oil pump all done without removing body, never had turbo faults, only a split hose in our ownership

thks, same here , however on occasion have been having an overboost issue, think it may be the VNT choked up ????

but time will tell if i’ve got to replace the turbo or not, shame the turbo couldn’t be split and a new VNT nozzle plate fitted , or a tin of oven cleaner, lol

Anyone know if the RR 2.7tdv6 requires body off also for those repairs ie timing belts ,turbo etc or is there a little more room ?

Read the above post, can't comment on the access room but can't see there being any more ON THE RRS (RANGE ROVER SPORT. 2.7 TDV6 ). It's the same thing underneath!!

may i ask plse, don’t know if you’ve had the same with the amount of garages that say the body has to come off on a D3 to replace the rear timing belt, cross over pipe, turbo when indeed it can be done without removing the body

thks

I have just bought a D3 tdv6 and find it an awsome vehicle to drive I also own a RR p38 (1999 diesel) and the power of the D3 2.7 coupled with the 6 speed zf gearbox is a good combination and can beat most boy racers away from the lights .
Having said that i have had problems with the EGR sticking open and the carbon build up in the inlet manifold ignited and burnt holes in it so I blanked off the EGRs and fitted a resistor to the MAF and it cured the MIL light and turns it off. the ride is comparable if not better than my P38 but then it a 2008 model with independent suspension and interactive ride adjusment for different terrains and also hill decent and DSC fitted as standard. the only thing i miss are the armrests. I found that the handbrake not coming off and making a sqeeling noise is cured by adjusting it so that it does not over crank and stick on the worm gear . The engine can have some problems if not well maintained but overall i would recommend a low mileage well maintained D3 . I cannot comment on the L322 as i have never owned one or even driven one,

Range Rover Sport is probably the most accomplished vehicle they’ve produced in my opinion. Although the interior and leather seats aren’t quite the same grade as the L322 almost everything else about it is superior. It’s also superior to the D3/4 unless you need the seven seats and boot space. It’s a better ride than both the Disco and the L322 because it has the active anti-roll bars and a less cumbersome body.

I’ve had both the TDV6 and the TDV8 and although the V6 doesn’t seem that spritely on paper it never feels sluggish driving not at all like a TD5 Disco DSE P38 or the 3.0 TD6 L322. I also feel the TDV6 is better at racking up the miles than the TDV8. Yes, there have been problems with the engine but overall I think it’s a pretty robust unit with endless examples with the best part of 200k miles on them which was pretty much unheard on previous Land Rover models.

I like the sound of a RRS 2.7 . Thanks all for explaining the different models . I read all the posts .
