Hi all.hope I'm in right place.
Just got my first range rover.
It's a 3.0 td6 on a 2004.having a issue with vibration while traveling at around 50.Ok before and after that speed .pulled up at work this morning and the nsr disc was super hot while other 3 was just warm.could this cause the vibration issue .there is a few had same droning vibration on this forum but still no solution...Thanks

Yes I’d check brakes, you will need them. If it’s binding the longer it’s left the more expensive it will become.

I'll have a look.it has had all brakes done recently.had new brake lines and flexi hoses fitted.and it passed test last week. But it is getting hotter on nsr disc.so something not right.
Plus just drove home and just drove it steady keeping it below 30 and the vibration still kicked in when I slightly pressed accelerater while in top gear..
I really appreciate your help.thanks

Mine just feels as if it is selecting the wrong gear. It's like if you were driving a manual and went straight from second to fourth... the engine would feel like it is labouring, so to stop it you would drop into third or second gear..it feels like that. The whole car is slightly juddering as it drops into fith gear, then once you gain some speed or you ease off the accelerator slightly it clears.only happens when feathering the throttle.
So annoying...Thanks again

I best get saving then.
Vibration feels like it's coming from under rear seat.but hard to pin point..
Cheers for ya input..

Sort out your brakes first.

Check center bearing/cvs/ujs on rear prop shaft.

Start with the cheap stuff.
Good luck.

Hi everyone.
Still no luck with the vibration .
Centre bearing looks ok.
I've had a chat to previous owner.
He said only thing thant happened to it.was when he reversed off drive after being stood a while it went with a right bang due to rear brakes seized.could this have caused some damage somewhere else.and he has had gearbox done 3 yrs ago as it failed on him.so wouldn't thought it would be that.....any ideas anyone.....thanks

No not yet.weather is rubbish.only get weekends due to work.last weekend was a wash out.so hopefully this weekend. Need to get under it .

If you get one wheel up at a time you can spin it and feel for any binding. Supposed to be the tail end of that storm comin in this weekend so good luck ;)

Hi guys back again.
Finally got under her .thought I would check state of oil in transmission and do a service at the same time.but only half of the seal has come out of the filter and other half won't budge.any ideas cos me has tried and tried lol..thanks

Sorted it.cut old pipe off filter.put it back in .wiggled it and it come lose.
Test drove it and vibration still there.
Oil was browny/black.
So needed changing anyway.although oil pan was very clean.slight build up on magnet.but nothing like on vids on YouTube.
Back to drawing board lol.
I'll service transfer box and diffs next.might as well
You never know

The vibration is most likely a rear calliper - go for a short drive and feel which one is hot or replace them both they are not too expensive
