What are the 2.7 like found in the disco and sportsWhilst either engine has its merits and problems, the MY07 onwards machines are miles better. The gearbox on the 3.6tdv8 is a 100x better than that used on the TD6. However its widely acknowledged that petrol models especially MY07 onwards are as reliable as things get with a Range Rover. Issues with TDV8 appear to center around oil leaking from turbos into intercoolers which can potentially cause hydraulic locking. However the performance must be night and day between the TD6 and TDV8, even the 3.6 goes OK

I no what ur saying I love the vouge I've found a black td6 with the 2 tone seats on 2006 model I take it all td6 have the 5 speed boxes on themTdv6 never available in a full fat Range Rover only a sport. I would be wary of it being a psa product but then i wouldn't buy a sport so not an engine I would come across!

When do the v8 turbos let goThe vogue is a spec of the L322 (or any other RR as it goes) I.e SE, HSE etc NOT a model.
Yes the TD6 only comes with the 5 speed GM Box, they tend to let go between the 80-100k mark and require RE-build/new box.

As mentioned the Vogue is a trim level not a model, a common mistake so we can let you of. Yes all TD6's came with the chocolate gearbox, sadly its just not up to the demanding job of hauling a range rover around especially as many are used for towing (and rightly so). I bet few people ever read the handbook where it suggests that when towing a heavy weight that you should set of in low range to get it rolling before changing ratios on the move... I digress.I no what ur saying I love the vouge I've found a black td6 with the 2 tone seats on 2006 model I take it all td6 have the 5 speed boxes on them
