Hi Everyone
I have an issue with my cruise control not sticking to the set speed when I drive up a gradient.
For instance driving on the motorway at 70mph and turn on the cruise control and set it will happily stick to the speed but if I then encounter a gradient the speed will decrease.
I am right in saying that the cruise control system should compensate and tell the engine increase to stay at the set speed even while driving up a hill.
Regards Mark

The reason I ask is because I can' remember my P38 doing this.
I know it's a different system but thought the principle was the same..

I did have the dreaded fuel injection system fault flash up and then engine cut out..
Did a leak off test and cylinder 4 was leaking off a lot quicker than the rest.
Changed with a second hand injector and tested leak off again and they all leak off the same.
Didn't bother getting it coded because I was told not necessary.
Unfortunately two weeks later it broke down again on the motorway with the same fuel injection alarm.
Bit the bullet and changed both low pressure pumps.
The one in the tank and the one in front of the rear near side wheel.
Could that have any affect with the cruise when extra load required?..
