It's possible that your shocks are weak and not making the best of your new coils. Also it is possible that the wrong coils were fitted on the car. I believe that they are position specific, front right and front left and rear right and rear left. The wrong spring has been put in the wrong place before. Do you know who did the work?

Can anyone confirm this statement? My '85 Classic had a distinct "Who ate all the pies?" stance, so I've fitted new shocks and HD springs all round. Front and rear springs were clearly marked, but no mention of left or right hand. It hasn't been driven on the new springs yet as I still have a brakes problem, but though not so pronounced now, there's still a small list to the right at the rear. Just wondering if it's worth swapping the rear springs over? OR :eek:... maybe I've got a twisted chassis? I'd be grateful for any advice on checking this.

What are the springs marked with im guessing letters as was going to check mine. Which also has a slight list.

I've used my google fu and found coil conversion sets that list specific right left fronts but ambidextrous rears and others just listed as front and back

I was told when I bought my '93 that the conversion on it was specific and it was the reason that that driver side sat a bit high when unoccupied in order to level out when the driver was in the car.

S2a ...Err, no such luck mate. They are simply marked with coloured paint bars. I'll have to get out and under to tell you what the colour codes are, but it's raining today (does that a lot here in Wales).

Mine were listed as HD springs, as against normal or extended lift ones. Pretty much the same length as the originals they replaced, but noticeably thicker steel. If yours have been in use for a while, I doubt the paintmarks will have survived anyway. In fact, I've just realised that I'm not gonna be able to see the paint marks now anyway ... everything was given a coat of Waxoyl after fitting.

WSL ... Mine sits pretty square at the front, but there's a definite list to starboard from the rear. It hasn't been lifted at all though. If it ever stops raining long enough I may well swap the rear springs over to see if it makes a difference.

Being a low spec '85, it has never had anti-roll bars fitted, but it is primarily used on country lanes or off road, so it rarely gets up enough speed for body roll to be a noticeable nuisance. On the rare occasions it gets out on the open road it will happily cruise at illegal speeds, but fast hard cornering ability has never been a requirement.

Yea paint has come off. Mine is lifted i think 2" and sits on terrfirma springs and shocks but looks like its listing on front and back on passenger side. Mine gets body roll almost in a straight line doing no more than 20 mph. Its very unbalanced even at low speeds so hopefully stiffer springs might help. Its that bad i can rock it with one hand and it feels like it will topple over lol

You sure your shocks are working? If they didn't get extended with the lift job, they could be well over worked. Sounds like you should really be looking for after market anti-roll bars too. And maybe dislocation cones would help? Seen 'em advertised but no experience of them. My ol' dutchess is straight ... just as the Brummies built her. (With quite a few nuts tightened up a bit or properly adjusted of course.):p

Just had suspension checked at local garage the blokes a keen offroader himself and doesnt seem to think an anti roll bar will be needed as he seems to think the springs are either worn out or the wrong way round. Also the rear suspension is on 2" spacers instead of sat on the actual axle so its 4" at rear and 2" on the front. So removing the spacers might help
