Hi,

My P38 seems to be swaying it hard to explain. Its recently had a MOT and nothings coming up. I've had no air suspension problems. I was thinking it may be the shocks. But to me it seems more like the bushes. But when you jack the car up its hard to get any movement from the bushes. Its done 117k and the shocks are stock they don't look new, but they also don't look like they've done 117k.

Are there any bushes prone to going, but are hard to get movement out of unless under more pressure. I know everythings pretty heavy duty to handle off-road and thats why I can't get any movement by jacking it up and doing it myself.

Any help would be great!!

Not sure what you mean by 'swaying'. The P38 is notorious for following
ruts in the road with the wrong tyres.

Shocks every time. Bushes will cause it to wander around but as shocks are connected from body direct to axles it has to be shocks causing body sway.

I think I'll try changing the shocks first. I was thinking the Koni's!! Any hands on experience with them?? I read a few posts about them. I think from what I've read its 50/50 on peoples opinions. Or is it worth just sticking with standard shocks?? I've heard keep away from the Monroe Gas Shocks??

I only drive the car on the roads, and I've got 22". I've kept the originals and was planning on driving off-road every now and then but still haven't got round to it. So I need the shocks to suit more road use. I was supprised that the 22" wheels haven't really made the car any harsher. That maybe the shocks though If they really are knackered.

What bushes are prone to going if they do go??

get some bilsteins on there, there a bit dearer but worth it in my opinion. i run 22", bilsteins and polybushed all round, corners like a an f1. honest! ok maybe not but it is much better and you aint got to worry about falling over every time a corner shows up.
