Hi friends,
I have a friend who has great difficulty getting into the driver seat. Can it be modified so that it can move 2-4 inch beyond the present limit by some form of modification to the rail? I understand that the knee space behind will be reduced.
Any suggestion will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Whats his problem I have hip and knee problems and find the P38 has plenty of access room

How about some 40x10mm flat bar bolted to the seat mounts on the car body and then the holes for the seat rails drilled further back ?
Not a truly thought out suggestion but maybe? o_O

I'm guessing it's not the persons height being the issue. Perhaps gettiing in/out and turning is the difficult bit.

I would struggle getting into a big Frelander if there was a Freelander available instead.

IMO it would be far more awkward to get in a P38 with the seat further back, the B post being one obstacle.

Not easy to move the seat back further because of the rear mounting tangs and it needs to be done in a manner that is strong enough to take the load in the event of an accident as the the seat belt mounts are on the seat. You mate must be fecking giant, even Ed China on Wheeler dealers can get into a P38.
You sure the seat is going all the way back?

Which direction are we on Scott? Mention of decreasing knee room, so does your mate want it closer to the pedals?

Morning Keith, nice to hear from you, :D

Ay up Keith, how's things buddy? :D

Highly doubtful without comprimising the integrity of the seat/rail. Even the poverty spec seats are a hefty lump.

Take the driver's seat out and drive from the rear one.

My ( much older ) Cousin used to have to do that ( he's not with us anymore :( ) - he was getting toward 8', and a complete bear of a man ! - used to be hilarious - he'd usually have Cortina's, take the front seat out, and drive from the back - then get pulled by the bizzies - often cos they could see me sat in the front passenger seat, and "no one" driving ...:D ....

Had some great times with him :). Good memories :).
