i have a p38 1994 4.6 hse the battery will go flat after 3 days at a steday 00.06 per hour disconect rf blue wire made no differance and no faint glow from behind p on auto changer infact no suden drop at all just a stedeey drain but there is a faint buzzing from behind speedo any ideas before i have to take apart thanks
 
I would strongly suggest that you have a careful look at your under bonnet fuse box. These are a sandwich affair with connections buried in the two back-to-back boards and can develop nasty dry joints and give weird and sometimes disastrous faults.

Pull the relays, especially those for the heater fans and check for signs and smells of burning. If you find or smell anything then replace it, about £130.

If your BECM is sleeping IE red light next to gear lever extinguishes after a short while and stays out ,then it is unlikely to be RF.

If so then with RR switched off,pull out fuses one at a time until the current drain stops.Then check which circuit the fuse is for and trace wiring etc until you find the source of the drain.
 
thanks for advice i live in a very rural area so no masts ect and i dont lock the p38 but yesterday i did lock it and kept a eye on the volt meter i have on dash and ges what the battery drain has gone from 00.06 per hour to 00.01 per hour at moment battery at 12.93 after 8 hours so i am thinking something wrong with front passinger door lock witch is quite nousie when it locks and unlocks has any body any experiance of this before . also the battery is new and alternater charges battery at average of 13.80 thanks
