Hi there, I have recently bought a manual 96 Range Rover P38 for restoration. I have no hand book and have managed to lock it and no matter what I do I can’t open it. I got an EKA code from a kind man from a dealership in Pretoria but when I turn the key in the drivers’ side door lock it only takes the code when I turn the key anti-clockwise and it doesn’t take the code in the clockwise position as I can’t hear it beeping. The drivers’ door handle is broken and the rods have fallen off inside the door. Can anyone tell me how to de-activate the locking system? All I really need is to be able to lock the drivers’ door with the central locking once the handle is replaced. The vehicle has been locked fortunately with the bonnet open. I would be grateful for any suggestions.

C4 is a US Military designation for Plastic Explosive - often seen in movies starring Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone etc - very useful for blowing up the bad guys/cars/bridges/buildings etc

Not to mention opening Range Rover doors!

Being serious though, not sure, but if its locked, the rods have fallen off and its not taking the EKA code, the only solution may be to pop the window - although as I say I'm really not sure, so don't send me the bill for the replacement glass!
 
I think breaking the glass would be better than blowing the door off. Thats gonig to be my last resort though. Thanks

He'll have a bloody hard time doing it without anyone noticing as the alarm would go off (if fitted) as soon as he opened the door. plus as I said to him I've never done it with a RR and didn't know if it would even work. Was just a suggestion not a definite way of gaining access.
