got this 2 days ago owner befour me didnt change oil,oil light came on then went off so diped oil was ok bit thick on cap,it was only when i came to lights that it was knocking on oil light was on.
took 2 hours to plunge oil out off engine poured deisle down to clear pick up pipe and took rocker cover off and cleaned sludge out.
put new oil and filter in still knocking think its tappits help anyone

Tapping or knocking noise?? 2 very different sounds and 2 very different causes...if its tappets a good engine flush followed by fresh oil and then same again after a couple of thousand miles...if its knocking could be big end bearings....find a good engine to swap or have yours reconditioned...lots of work but satisfying when its done.
Put your location in your post.....someone close to you will prob pop along to have a listen to you...may have to bribe them with custard creams or bourbons.

good job its not a v8, could be liner(s) flaing around as they tend to do!!!

geting some one to have a look tomorrow found a head from a omega £70 if i need it cheers
