wont need a SVA and Q plate then.why not just buy a fender?
surely it would have to be a very early rr to be tax exemptits tax exempt this way and it passes the point system
If you shorten the chassis, that is a 'radical modification' and you lose exempt status and have to go on a Q plate.

Hi,
Considering buying a rr clasic rolling chassis and re bodying it as a defender 90. A friend has done the same thing.
Just wondering how easy it is to do the chassis cut and what works involved and if anyone on here has done it?
and why cant you use it if the chassis is cut down??
just make a 100 inch fender, better off road. and modify the shell to make it fit not the chassis, simples
yeah ive not heard of that either. This topics slipped off course a bit
anyone have any idea what works involved?
In order to retain the original registration mark:
- cars and car-derived vans must use:
The original unmodified chassis or unaltered bodyshell (i.e. body and chassis as one unit - monocoque); or a new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the same specification as the original supported by evidence from the dealer or manufacturer (e.g. receipt).
