Hi all. Hope you, and all who are dear to you are keeping safe and well during these difficult times....I was just wondering if seeing as it's nigh on impossible to find a decent second hand bottom tailgate, and I am up to having a go, what with all this spare time on my hands, have any of you wonderful people tried successfully to take on this task and if so, have you any tips to help me with this challenge?

Thanking you all in anticipation.

The lower portion of the tailgate is flatter than a flat thing, so shouldn't be difficult to splice in a repair panel..

Only trouble is the tailgates rot from the inside out, so you might have to gut a fair chunk of material out before you find anything firm to weld to..

most i've seen, even a small 50p sized hole turned into an envelope side repair as the steel was terminal..

Last thing I had off them was the BM700 'Inner sill body mount bracket & back plate' to do driver's side rear. (Plus the bushing kit to go with it.)
Nicely made & a good fit.
