Hi All,

I have managed to get the rovergauge connected to my RRC LSE 4.2. (great tool btw https://code.google.com/p/rovergauge/)

the only fault I get when the car is running is "(21) Tune resistor out of range"

The car is running rich, so I think this could be reason as the ECU tries to add more fuel as it doesnt see the tune resistor (3900 ohm).

did any of you run into the same fault code? or faulty tune resistor? if so what was your symptom?

anyone got a spare one (blue 3900 ohm for LSE 4.2?)

If you have cats then Blue is correct (but its 1800ohms) the White one is 3900ohms!

Blue 1800ohms with cats fitted for Gulf States 3.9 or EU and UK 4.2

The White one is 3900ohms with cats fitted for EU & UK 3.9 (or 3.5 Disco)
Red is 180ohms no-cats fitted Australian 3.9
Green is 470ohms no-cats fitted Europe and 3.9 (3.5 Disco)
Yellow is 910 no-cats fitted Gulf States 3.9 or EU & UK 4.2

To check your existing resister - disconnect the ECU plug and measure the resistance between pins 5 and 27

Thanks. I have a blue one now fitted, but according to the fault log something is not ok.

If the resistor is wrong, would my engine run richer than normal?
 
First set idle mixture, assuming everything is correct ie ignition timeing, plugs etc. If you have cats but no oxygen sensors fitted or faulty then it will run rich. If idle speed goes quickly to 1800 and then drops back after 10 seconds or more - idle speed adjustment.

Most likely is you AirFlow Meter.
