It's a common rail diesel, there are two pumps, a lift pump and a high pressure one. I believe the HP pump is under the car. There is no FIP. The HP pump is known to fail.

So the high pressure pump is not on engine? I had a citroen with common rail and i'm sure its pump was engine driven:confused:

Common rail engines always have an electric pump as far as I'm aware, it would be quite difficult to get the pressure required from an engine driven pump at cranking speed.

The Diesel has two pumps

One in the tank (Lift Pump)
One under a cover on the side of the tank (external to..) and is the High Pressure Pump IIRC

Ps I've had mine for 6 years and I still love it nothing compares, just a shame i have to take ny van if I have to leave the range for a time

Just a thought I read an arrival about td6 discos and someone mentioned a spider box ,something about a circuit board expanding with engine heat and breaking a circuit on fuel solenoid ,any thoughts ?????????

Yes, you don't have a Disco.

Get a V8 :) Mine is for sale;)

Lpg :) 34-42mpg equivalent @ 70p a litre, sweet 300hp.

How many 'orses' does the TD6 have? 174? :p

And no need for a FBH, and my neighbours aren't disturbed in the morning and thats important for me as i regularly need sugar n milk and all things nice;)

You have already been told what the most likely cause of your problem is, the high pressure pump.

Sorry for the delay I've been working ,its not the high pressure pump ,yes I have been on here before with the same problem that never went away ,no I wasn't banned ,the problem is just getting on my moobs

He never said you were banned...

How did you qualify the HP Pump was OK??

Because when the problem occurred I changed the pump and it still would not start until it cooled down .I'm just a normal 48 yr old bloke ,not some tosser trying to get a cheap fix ,sorry for any of my delays I don't know how to get alerts
