I am new to trialling (RTV) and I own a modified v8 series 3 lightweight - it was built for comp safari but I haven't the confidence to try it in a leafer. I have been told on a couple of occaisions to consider replacing the front-axle for one from a RR and changing the rear diff to match as this will give a tighter turning circle, improve fuel-economy and if I should pop a rear diff on an event, the benefit of CVs on the front end. Has anyone any experience of doing this or any views/thoughts on what to look out for. As for the higher gearing, I never use 1st anyway as it is totally pointless given the amount of power I have available even when in low-box trialling so the lower revs and better mpg might actually make me use it more given the price of fuel. Many thanks

theres a sight you don't see every day someone with a V8 for trailing asking about fuel economy at a guess it will be about 3mpg :d
