I'm slowly doing up a Hi Cap pick up and the front axle's pretty crappy. Can I fit the axle from a Range Rover Classic that I have? It has good balls and seals and vented discs, which will obviously improve the braking, especially as one day it'll have a 3.9 V8 under the bonnet with an auto box. Also, are the drum braked Salisbury axles any good compared to a disc version, is it worth swapping? Cheers in advance.

i would leave the salisbury axles in there if you are going to do any off roading because they are far better than range rover axles apart from the brakes.
depends if you are only going to drive it the road all of the time

the rear salisbury is good, you can convert them to disc very easily, have done it before using classic parts and the caliper bracket off the axle.
only downside although very minor is that the input flanges can dig into the ground as they are lower but more of a prob on swb.
front axle will be a straight swap apart from some brake pipe work as the classic calipers should be dual feed whereas the 110 will be single. shame you cant keep the 110 calipers with vented discs as they are better. have some on my 90 and it stops an a 50p.
