Hi ukadamwest the problem is that I'm not sure about the vin plate as the last 4 number s are of a different font. Have you seen it I attached a pic?
The thing with these is that that the chassis do rot away and the chassis number placemen over years can become illegible.
The DVLA will go on the plate affixed to the slam panel.
I looked into this extensively with my Suffix A. the chassis was like Swiss cheese at the rear and considered a chassis swap. the bodyshell was also like Swiss cheese. a triggers broom.
I ended up getting a donor chassis for the rear legs. By the time the chassis was flap wheeled back and coated any vestiges of the chassis number were illegible. not that it was very legible to start with.
You can get the chassis number restamped but that can only be done through an authorised person. To satisfy purists.
At the end of it the vehicle will be identified by the VIN plate. Nothing else.
