Hi all, I have a 1996 range rover 4.6 auto 1996. Over the last week I have noticed a small quick shudder when the auto box is changing gears. It seems to do this only in second and third gears. Is there any one who knows what it could be?
THANKS:

I would be inclined to change the fluid and filter and this is a chaep option and see if that solves you problem. You won't be able to empty all the ATF as a fair amount will be held in the tourque convertor. Make sure everything is ultra clean when you reassemble though. If the problem persists, I would have a chat with the guys at Ashcroft Transmissions and see what they have to say.

Have a look at the flex plate that connects the torque convertor to the flywheel. There is an inspection plate on the bellhousing. you will need a small torch.
