Hi there,

I'm a newbie here so I haven't had the chance to browse through this forum to see if there is anything that has already been posted on this subject. So I'll say sorry now just in case there is!

Right, we've just bought a 1999 Range Rover 2.5 DSE (a P38 I think! ) over here in Portugal and I have been looking around for a manual in ENGLISH for it. I have already been to the Haynes site and I was surprised to see that they do not do them!

Does anyone out there know of someplace that I can get one from:confused:

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

you can buy the 'RAVE' landrover workshop manuals on ebay. It comes on a CD. It covers Classic RR, P38 RR, L322 RR, Freelander, Disco 1 & 2. I bought mine for about £4.

I have the 2.5DT P38, and the BMW 2.5 engine is deff covered in the RAVE cd.

Thanks Bigstoo.

So, am I right in assuming that the model we have is the P38 one then?

I know that it's a series 2 but I do not know what the difference between that and a P38 is. (Untill seeing and buying this RR we were going for a Discovery)

Is there a difference between a series 2 and P38, and if so what is it?

Once again thanks for the info

p38 is a series 2 range rover, yes.

classic 197?-1995
P38 (series 2) 1995-2002
L322 (series 3) 2002-

me 2 i was gunna get a disco until i actually sat in one and was amazed how cramped the driver was. mind u im 6'4" :)

Thanks Bigstoo,

6'4" myself and when you add 19.5 stone to the hight I know what you mean with the discovery. I really couldn't beleive it when I sat in the passenger side of the RR. It must be the first motor I've sat in where I can actually strech my legs out in front of me without having to bend them:cool:

I've ordered the CD from that gent on E-Bay and right now I'm downloading a complete manual for several Land Rovers. It covers the following:

 • Range Rover V8 4.0/4.6/BMW Diesel 1995 onwards
 • Discovery Series II V8/Diesel
 • Defender 300Tdi, V8i, Td5
 • Freelander VIN 576674 onwards
It covers these bits'n'bobs
 • Workshop Manuals
 • Overhaul Manuals
 • Electrical Troubleshooting Manuals
 • Owners handbooks
 • In-Car Entertainment, including satellite navigation
 • PDI & Maintenance

I will let you know what it's like.

Catch you later,

Hi there,

This is a follow-on to my last post about the manual I was down-loading.

Well, after about an hour to down-load it I finally got it going and it's bloody intense. It cover about everything anyone would need to know.

If anyone's interested in it give us a shout.:D

Hi Bigstoo,

I don't know if the disc I have will have what you are looking for. I have the Rave disk, but not the one from that con-merchant from E-Bay.

Let me know if it is the one with what you need.

Responding to 2005 queries is abit lame but I am wanting a owners manual or better workshop manual for a 1996, 4.6L HSE. Any out there?
Cheers, Rob.

An online version of the parts manual (Microcat) can be found here...

Land Rover

It's a Russian site, but click the "Spare Parts Catalogue" button at the bottom and you're away,

RAVE, the official LR repair manual can be downloaded here...

RAVE

I think the download also includes all the owners manuals too.

Go the the "How To" section, in one of Wammers posts you will find a link to download RAVE the official workshop manual which also contains the owners manual.
Or you could try the search function as this question comes up all the time.

Yes but worth it if people are PAYING for RAVE.

Just put it on a Windows 8.1 laptop. Had to put it in program files x86 and then afterwards I had to double-click the Tdata.exe file for each user on the laptop to get the link setup on the desktop. I'm not massively fond of icons on the desktop but I'll make an exception for Windows 8.1 because it is a pain in the ...
