Just woundering, how far I can expect to get out of a tank once the fuel light comes on, As soon as it hits the quater of a tank mark my fuel light comes on and stays on.

Is it possilbe there is a diffrence between whats on the gage and the fuel thats left, it just seems to be comein on way to soon seeing as it is sayin there is still 1/4 a tank left?

85, 2.5D NA if that helps

I dont really want to risk running out of fuel as i have to go threw teh mersey tunnel twice a day, and its £70 fine if you brake down in the tunnel, or £140 if you run out of fuel in the tunnel!

My 200tdi fuel light comes on at 1/4 tank. I filled up when this first happened in order to check and found the needle to be correct. I have about 80 miles left when it first lights up so gauge spot on, light not so!

Thanks, I just dont fance giving £140 to mersey travel, it was bad enough when i broke down on my bike and had to pay £70, but at least on my bike i can say to my self i dont have to pay to go threw the tunnel.

strange mine has no light and the needle stops @ a quater left and stays there as i found out the hard way last week! :(

Ahhh for once I have summet that works then :)

My light comes on just as needle goes into the red and will do 50 miles on the reserve!

If you are planning on going on a journey you are better off putting fuel in your tank before you get stuck in traffic, snow, and accident etc and then running out. I keep a full 20 litre jerry can in my 110 for emergency use.

ratty thought that was for burning freelanders.We5ley i would always keep it half full at least at the end of the day your only paying for wat you will use were as if you run out £140 for being a tight arse.your chioce.

That'd be a waste of diesel. I'd rather syphon the fuel out of the frreelander.:p

Don't forget that the less fuel in your fuel tank, the more room for condensation to form too.

Listen to you lot with your fancy fuel lights :eek::eek::eek:, my gauge seems to be about right, but I rarely let it get much below 1/4 of a tank, just Incase I ever need to get anywhere in a hurry and can't get any doozil. ;););)
