Sorry guys, been away with no internet access. The vehicle for sale by Simmonites is the sister vehicle to mine. They were built side by side by Dave Billings at Tornado Motor Sport and Anthony Fearn of Freelander Storm,.The one at Simmonites was recently up for sale on Ebay for £5500. I was all set to buy it but work meant I couldn't view it until the Monday.I was beaten to it by Simmonites who bought it on the Saturday. Anyhow, Simmonites immediately putting it up for sale at £8000 claiming it now had an MOT and major service. I'd rather nail my penis to a board and pour acid on my nads than give Simmonites an extra £2500 for a bloody service !!
I hear rumors it was in the Derby area 18 months ago and made enquiries with all my contacts to no avail.Sure enough it was...............but sadly I was pipped to the post. Shame cos it's better than mine as it was fully fitted out , whereas mine was built to prove the basic design. Anyway, I think someone's bought it now as it's no longer for sale.Good luck to them and I hope it makes them happy, just hate the thought of Simmonites making all that profit, cos I've never liked them, the rob dogs (have you seen how much they charge for their vehicles ? Vastly over-priced -and I thought Craddocks were bad)
Definitely a weekend toy. The ride is very harsh, the engine is rigidly mounted and there is no flex in the downpipe like on the standard TD4 so the whole thing shakes you to bits at traffic lights.
I'm going to keep mine and refine certain parts to make it more "user friendly" so it can be driven every day..................................
Oh, and anyone thinking this is sour grapes on my part - YES you'r dead right.
