hi everyone,

Just a quick question hopefully. I have installed a radio and its feeds are wired into the cigar lighter feed, which is all very well apart from the fact that I can only use one or the other and that the radio has no memory, along with the less important fact that the little light on the cigar lighter DOES light up when the radio is on but goes out when i put so much as my sidelights on (?)

I was wondering if there was a constant live wire behind there somewhere so that I could put the memory wire into it and hopefully sort out the cigar lighter illumination problem. if anyone knows anything about this i'd be most grateful for a pointer in the right direction

I'd say your radio needs it's own switched/fused power source as well as a constant live feed.

Also sounds like you have an earthing fault possibly in your lighting circuit too

Your going to need a circuit diagram and a multimeter ;) :D

just use a 5w bulb on fly-leads ;)

It will need an unswitched feed for memory and another feed from the "Aux" circuit for main power.

ok, so i'll run a fused wire from the live radio wire and memory to the battery? I reckon the cigar lighter illumination thing is just that I've put wires back in the wrong place after I finished doing the radio
