Hi,

Not been on forum for a while everything as been ok but?
Started car up today and radio,sat nav,and warning lights on dash turn them self`s on and of loads of clicking think these relays.
car is a 2001 p38 30th anniversary.

Anybody had this problem before
any help would be great.

Sounds like you have damp somewhere.

Hi thanks forr that, Had a top hose blow water every where but that was 4 weeks ago.
Could this be it fuse box under bonnet did get wet.

Could be. More likely BECM.

Thanks for that,

Can it be dried out and is it easy to get at,

Disabled movment not good can`t bend to well

You *may* be able to get at it without taking the seat out, but it is easier to remove the seat....

Disconnect the battery before you remove the BeCM....

Open up the case ensuring you are grounded to something...sit next to a radiator (off) and touch the pipe to earth yourself to disipate static....check inside for signs of moisture and corrosion, clean it with a good quality electrical cleaner that evapourates without leaving residue....then place the open BeCM in the airing cupboard to dy out....

Reassemble after earthing yourself again...

May even be radio and sat nav themselves do you have any condensation inside car?

could this dry it self out in time if i just leave it or is it going to cause damage,
and how as it got damp

I disconected the sat nav and it still did it.
just run wife to work and had to put key code in knocked radio of completely

Hi tried diconecting sat nav before due to haaving loads of problems with it but it still same fault.

Just run wife to work and it turned it self of twice and then seems to sort it self out forgot to say it knocked radio of and had to put key code back in.
seems to do it on start up and driving for 5 mins then stops.

I had a courtesy car from a main dealers, Astra, a few years ago. The radio would come on during the night. I was glad to hand it back.

Just gave it a 10 mile run fault happened 5 times then stops when gets hot
never did it again all way home

What voltage do you have on the car battery? They are very sensitive to low voltage.

Hi do not know what voltage but the alternator as been making noises since the top hose blow.
think it got a lot of water in it.

You need to check the battery voltage and the charge voltage, you should have 14.2 volts at 2k rpm after a few minutes.
Could be the answer to your problem.
