My D2 has the Harman Kardon Navigation system (Becker Head Unit?)

I want to tune in some local radio stations but the tuner works on 200 gaps and odd only, not on 100 gaps.

So no 104.0 just 103.9 or 104.1 as an example.

Security number is as in the glove box.

Any ideas please?

Have you got it set to 'Manual tuning'?

Don't hold the button too long or it'll change to 'auto tuning'

I'm not sure what a Becker unit looks like but...

Press the ‘Man’ multifunction button twice.

Turn the rotary selection control to adjust fine tuning manually, and 100 kHz tuning steps are performed.

All the info on how your head unit works is in the owners handbook.

Thanks, tried that loads of times and it steps in 200kHz not 100:(

Does MW step in 10kHz? Sounds like it's in USA mode but no idea how to change it if it is.

Well I have contacted Becker (useless) and some car audio people, (looking for manuals) so low on ideas.

Tempted to replace it, what will be able to use the steering wheel controls?

There are NO local ICE shops at all near me.

A lot of these head units need a button push to reveal a hidden menu. A quick Google throws up pressing preset 1 and 0 for 8 seconds works on some older Becker units. If you've already found the service menu and it's showing Harware and Software? is USA maybe it can't be done unless you know it did do 100k steps out of the factory?

Not sure what I can do, can I use SOGA on a ten year old car?

Car HiFi places are now pretty rare.

Tempted to give up and fit my old Minidisc head unit.

Have had a quick look
Malfunction reset
If a malfunction of the unit should occur such that the unit is no longer capable of operation or is defective in some way a restart of the unit software ( reset ) can be triggered

In order to trigger a reset press the '1' or the '3' multifunction buttons and the 'tp ' button simultaneously the navigation cd must be inserted after a reset of the unit

OK will give it a go, it didn;t work when I got the car as they had had the battery off, and during the test drive the area it was in was OK with odd FM channels.

Heard back from a Becker specialist that the radio is not repairable and I am stuck with a useless radio.

So where do I write to at LR?
