You would normally have a small lever/knib on each of the 2 connectors which are simply depressed to release each one.
You can see them here on he left hand side of each plug.

Is is the one with the BMW style connector.
If it is its a right bugger,but once you have done it once its easy.
There should be a piccy of a screwdriver on the black part of the connector which you ease up.
However it needs prizing up more than you expect to get the slots for the plastic pins on the white block to line up.It can then be pulled off.
Its tight. I cracked the black cover on mine when I changed the Radio.
Just give it 2 or 3 coats of looking at and don`t use to much force.
