Hi all,
So I look at the handbook that comes with my newly purchased '99 Freelander and it tells me that tampering with the radio can activate the airbags??!!
As I want to change the existing Jurassic period 'cassette' radio for a modern CD/radio unit that I carefully ripped from my previous wreck, I'm now somewhat perturbed to read that whilst engaged upon such a largely harmless procedure I could nonetheless end up with my head wedged firmly between a Freelander airbag cleavage!!
Is the Freelander airbag system really so damned sensitive?

Expert opinions most welcome...

What ever you do DONT....i repeat DONT...open the ash tray as this can activate the Self Destruct Sequence....:eek::eek:

Sounds like absolutely rubbish to me. Took mine out of both Hippos I had, no link to SRS system whatsoever.
