Hi guys,

As my radiator was goosed, I got this from island 4x4. Fitted it sunday (16th) and all was well. Got back from work on the Tuesday night and noticed coolant dripping from the bottom of the rad. Took it to a specialist and they confirmed it was leaking from the bottom on one/possibly both corners, only does it when hot.
Called island 4x4 up and they said I'd have to return it and they'd send it off to Nissens for testing, taking around 3-4 weeks, or if I needed the rangie I could buy another one.

Any advice?

Trust me to get the duff one!

Not a choice if you need the use of rangie buy another rad and hopefully get a refund in due course

Island are good. Buy another one and wait for the refund. To be fair to them, they don't know you and you could be trying it on, so you can't blame them for asking for it back for testing. However, any failure within 6 months and the onus is on them to PROVE you damaged it. After 6 months the onus is on you to prove it was faulty.

HTH,

Nik

Thanks Nik,

Although I don't really need the rangie at the mo it would be nice to have the choice. After reading a few forum posts both good and bad about nissens and their longevity, I was a bit dubious about ordering another one. Will give island a call on monday and setup the return of this one.
