Hey guys, one of the hoses from my rad to overflow tank came lose and hit the fan, it didn't cut it but put a nice slice in it. I bodged it with duck tape and leccy tape over the top to do the 8 miles home and fitting the new hose in a sec but was just wondering if there is special tape to fix things like that with?

I remember talking to someone about expedition prep and he mentioned amalgamating tape or something? Is this right?

Cheers, Harry

Rescue tape, Alfa tape, amalgamation tape, compression tape. They are all the same name for the same product.

It's a silicone based tape that has no sticky. It sticks to itself. I've used it on a fair few coolant hoses and also a large quantity of fuel pipes, fuel filters and turbo hoses. I wouldn't reccomend it as a permanent repair but to get you hope it's bloody brilliant.

Cheers Ratty, gonna stick a roll in my box that lives in the 90 just in case.

Just replaced the hose with a nice bit of braided hose i 'found' in the garage...dad's now searching the garage for an identical bit that he left there a while ago to fix something on his 90 -he could be there a while! ;):D
