Don't know what's going on here, when cold my gearbox is smooth and shifts fine. When warm the gear stick is like stirring thick treacle. It will still change gear but has resistance to moving around. Oil was changed about 1500 miles ago. Only had this problem come round in the last couple days.

What kind of oil did you put in it?...cos if it's not the proper one it might cause you trouble...happened to me..the R380 is VERY sensitive to oil's quality

I get the same problem mate, i've drained and replaced oil twice with two different types, ATF and MTF94, both same result. Treacle after 35 minutes on motorway. I was considering plumbing in a 13 row mocal oil cooler but there must be something else to try first.

i dunno what manual you have but ATF (Dexron IID or III) must be used just if MTF 94 is not available... IMO ATF is too thin for it, and it becomes thiner when warms up... the Rover mtf 94 is not that expensive so you better put the proper oil to rule it out before you go further with the diagnose

Manual Gearbox
Use Texaco MTF 94 oil for refill and topping-up. If
MTF 94 is not available, ATF Dexron IID or ATF
Dexron III may be used.
