Hi all

Can any one help?

I have got a R380 short shaft gearbox in my 90 that doe not like 5th gear when driving about 55 - 60 mph. I gain a droning noise and vibration but after 60 it goes. If you depress the clutch at that speed the symptoms go?

any ideas?

do you have the correct type and quantity of oil in both the tranny and GB ?

you could have checked yer oil by now

or are you still expecting someone to give you a solution that doesnt require you to get off yer arse and actually do something

I take it you are not going to say why low oil would result in the vibration and noise?

I suppose you can always phone the garage where you take yours to to ask why low oil would result in the problem?

checking the oil does not bother me but whilst i am under if their is something else on the gearbox i can check at the same time i will!!!

Gear box has got plenty of oil transfer box was low on oil.!!!

check your propshafts ...if the uj,s are gone it will virbrate. mine did @ about 50-55 ..all ok now

have replaced the rear UJ's will replace the front next weekend.

After topping up the oil the vibration and the noise are still there but not as noticeable as it was.
