Hi Guys I have an "R" Disco GS and it has developed a noise coming from I think the front drivers side (Sorry not very mechanical :() when I accelerate like metal to metal if I lift off the throttle no noise if I knock it into neutral no noise?

Expensive to fix probably but don't want a garage cheating me roughly how much and what might be the problem? Please

Regards

That sounds like it could be front prop shaft or front axle related. I know not very specific :)

Is it a one-off noise as you apply throttle or is a 'tapping' in relation to road or engine speed.

As andyb66 above more info is required also is there any vibration or clonks when taking up the drive, both characteristic of worn prop shaft uj's.

Cheers thanks Guys I'm taking it to the garage on Monday so we'll see what they say Proshaft UJ's were my favourite but I worried about driveshaft!.

No noise in neutral only accelerating and there is a slight clunk as you take up the drive now that you mention it.
