Brake lights don't work but rear lights do, checked bulbs all ok, will it be the pedal switch or should i check something else first?

Most likely the switch if neither light works and bulbs good. Try shorting across the switch wires with a spare piece of wire to test

ermmm how do i do that that not very good with lectrics

pull plug off off switch and join across terminals with ignition on
