I got an erg blanking kit but it seems to have only come with one blanking plate, on the instructions it shows 3 of these plates are needed, have I got the wrong kit? It's on a disco 2 2003 auto.

You can buy either version depending on which version you need.

Have a butchers at this KB.

Cheers

Ah cheers neilly, yes ineed 2 more blanks, i will get my son to make me a couple up as I have the later TD5

Only one blanking plate is needed on the exhaust manifold no matter which kind of EGR system was fitted, the rest of the system can be binned without remorse and the cooler's pipes coolant ports clogged, but even left in place any blanking is useless , IMO it's even better to not blank the cooler cos if it develops a leak at least will be immediately visible, blanking that it's a non-sense cos it's nothing in there

Ah thanks I must admit i was wondering why blank off in 3 places when the first one will blank it off, I was thinking of removing everything and putting in a spare parts box but I think I will just leave in place unblanked as you say.

If you want to make it easy put the blanking plate on the end of the egr cooler nearest the valve. leave the rest in place. or like ferry says remove and put plate straight on manifold. either way you only need one plate.

Thanks for all the advice, I removed the egr and blanked at the egr cooler valve end and capped the vacuum off, everything came undone nicely once I found my 5mm hex key but I do have one question about unplugging the egr / vacumm modules two electrical plugs, yes or no and if yes could it cause the 3 ameegos to come on?
I noticed a difference in throttle response straight away and it does run smoother, only took around 40 minutes from start to finish :).

Deffinitely unplug the EGR modulators just tie up the plugs as to not touch earth, they have nothing to do with the ABS system whatsoever, there is ignition live in both those connectors so you can use that to trigger a relay's coil for any additional application if you want
