hi all. My 07 freelander hse has started to blow black smoke when accelerating and I get a put put noise ( sorry for the description but don’t know how else to discribe it ) no loss of power but running a bit fuffly ( I know crap description again! ) but still running and driving ok. Does anyone have any ideas before I put it in the garage please. Thanks all
What have you checked so far?
Air filter?
Fuel filter?
Intake pipes for delamination?
Have you had any error codes thrown up by the confuser?

Sounds like a boost leak. My freelander had similar issues when one of its boost hoses burst.
No codes, new fuel filter, new pipe on turbo and can’t see any major problems with pipes

Mine was obvious. Start the engine, get someone to rev it, and trace the “put put” noise.

Are you sure that pipe is tightened down properly?
