I put down a deposit on this 1997 defender 110 300tdi today. Very happy and looking forward to collecting next week. It is pretty knackered in places but the chassis is mainly solid - except for the rear cross member which needs replacing. Had a good poke around with a screwdriver and no other holes that I could find. Bodywork will need tidying as will the interior. Engine runs nicely and looks to have had some money spent on it recently.

Its LHD and cost me 6000 EUR. Ex Croatian Police with 220 thousand km on the clock though I suspect the engine had been replaced.

This is my third landy...had a 2003 D2 which I sold a year ago. Also have a S3 109.

Looks great. Bet you can't wait to start tinkering around with it. You do realise your weekends are now buggered.

Really looking forward to tinkering!!! Still got loads to do on the S3, but you can never have too many Land Rovers

That bit of rope holding the rear wheel on looks knackered, you'll need a new bit

I only noticed that rope when uploading the pics! I hope it was just used for towing something rather than holding the axle in place

Looks like a good project. Bet you'll find all sorts of things if you stripped out the interior!
