I am trying to drop the fuel tank on my DHSE. After figuring out how to unclip the breather pipe I am now stuck on the push fit connections. I have raised the red collar away from the main body of the fitting but cannot get the line to disconnect. What am I doing wrong?

Forgotten how mine came out but do you not squeeze and pull. Don't break them the pipes are serious money to replace.

I can believe that. Just struggling to work this one out. I thought that this would part would be really simple!

It is be afraid for later. My memory is push in squeeze pull out.

So you think that it is push the line into the connector, raise the collar and then pull the line out.

I think I have tried this (as per the plumbing fitting) but will give it another go.

As i said i can't remember but also can't recall it being hard work to fathom out.

On airline push fit connectors, you press the collor in (I use an open ended spanner) and pull the pipe.
Have you tried that?

Push the coller in and keep it pushed in as you pull the pipe out.

Exactly. Same as push-fit plumbing pipes. It's so that the pipe can't just pull out - the more it tries to, the tighter the collar grips.

Thanks guys your advise has solved it. When I got under the car I saw that the collars were pushed in so I assumed that the collars needed to be pulled out to disconnect.

This should have been a job of a few hours but has now taken up most of the day as a couple of other problems have cropped up.
