First things first, my commiserations if this was a forum member and I hope nobody was hurt

However, as someone who has just swapped out his springs, coils, airbags and shocks (because they were all okay for MOT, but except one airbag where all either completely nadged or very tired)...I can't help looking at this RTC in Cumbria yesterday and the age of the car and wondering if it was a suspension issue.

This is a looong, national speed limited hill with swooping bends and a very healthy gradient. Therefore, it could have resulted from any one or combination of a number of contributory factors...but as I say, it just made me wonder.

Looking at the caravan on its side, was this the A590 at Lindale? Saw a report about a dead caravan but didn't see a Disco in the pics. Wouldn't be surprised to hear the caravan had lost a wheel, often see tourists at the roadside and the caravan or boat trailer has suddenly developed an unhealthy lean with a corresponding gouge in the tarmac and a wheel to dodge.

I must be missing something here. The police car in picture one is ahead of the hazard and only visible to vehicles travelling in the opposite direction in the other carriageways. Perhaps there was one at the other end as well.
