Please can someone help me out?!

I’m currently looking into purchasing a RR and have looked at a couple of options (all Diesel J)

Plan 1
Purchase a 56 / 07 plate TDV8 Vogue (circa 35k), roughly 30k miles on the clock

Plan 2
Purchase an older 3.0td6 Vogue SE (circa 25 - 27k)
Will I get pre-heat standard on a SE of this age? What year did touch screen nav come in?

The following things are important:-
Ability to chip to get better economy (last RR I had 3.0 td6 was chipped to get over 35mpg), Touch screen sat nav, Winter pack – Pre-heaters, Side steps (I’m a short arse), Privacy, Blue Tooth H/F – iPhone compatible. What kind of economy is a 3.6 TDV8 delivering before / after chip?
I have a second car too (VDub golf) with a 150k miles on it so I wont be using the Range all of the time.

I realise that this question is a bit all over the place but just after people’s options really.. Any advice much appreciated..

Many Thanks!

PS – They all seem pretty expensive at the moment compared to a few months ago! – even at auction!

I don't think most people on this forum are in the league of 56/07 plate RRs.......most folk here have P38s or Classics.......hence the lack of response!!!!

Touch screen sat. nav. was introduced for 2005MY (Denso fiber-optic MOST system) but many people avoid 2005MY because the vehicles were neither an outgoing BMW (2004) nor a incoming Jaguar (2006) at that stage, but something of an orphan inbetween.
The 6HP26 was introduced in '06 too (more overdrive - ratio spread = 6.04 - better economy).
I thought all the diesels were fitted with pre-heaters as they needed them to get throught the emission regs.
