what engine ,what are you trying to do 200 and 300 tdi pumps are preset and use pin and slot in pulley and pump at tdc
Sorry 300TDi I want to check that the injection timing is advancing and retarding as it should I intend to get a pulse pick up strobe but I need to mark off the pully in degrees BTDC once I can establish this I can get a machine shop to do this for me, satic timing I can do ok but I have flat spot a mile wide below 2000 rpm and really have rev it on hills

its easier to get it checked in a shop theyd do timing advance and fueling at same time £100 ish , i would check timing, cam and pump then advance pump as far below knock as possible
